New Year

Happy New Year friends and family!!… We all have plans right? Our January 2022 started off with plans too. Plans for my music, some ministries, some home bath improvements and help Mary finish kid’s worship room. Mary had plans with her embroidery expansion, sewing projects, and working some more on the plans in church’s children’s wing section. Katie had plans to visit all the little towns, around our little town, and each lunch there. Then life happened in February. God directed our steps in another direction.

“The heart of man plans his way, but the LORD establishes his steps.” PROVERBS 16:9

While most of our plans have come to a halt, perspective has come front and center. The best laid plans can amount to nothing, dreams can be crushed, we’re just passing through anyway, and most importantly, we learn to care more, give more, and mostly serve more. Cancer is an enemy. Especially one that has no cure. So we fight the fight.

2023 will be what we make it. We will choose to make it life. It has already started off wonderful with a surprise meal delivered and shared from our granddaughter Delaney. I’m now hanging out with Mary and Katie waiting for our traditional annual new year’s countdown on Animal Crossing and watching Bluey!…those that know, know…lol.. Good times!…

Some things are harder now. Plans are different now. Routines are different now. But that’s ok. God is good. He is in control. We have been redeemed. Eternity awaits us all. We fight and remain faithful on this road. So thankful for those who are walking with us.

Tomorrow is Sunday. We will start the year off grateful. Worship the Father. The one who directs your steps. I’ll keep playing music and minister when I can. Mary will fight and work on projects when she can. Katie will get to see these little towns and adventures when the timing is right. God has a plan for us all. We shall see what His plans are for 2023. We wish you all the best in this year ahead. Trust in the Lord…always.
