The Tonya Hill Matthews Deacon Jones Nissan Cause

Tonya Hill Matthews is a 33-year old single mother from Mount Olive NC. She has been an employee of a local bank, and had been enjoying life with her 8-year old daughter Hailey until she started having a health issue that just wouldn’t go away. First she was told she had an infection, and even after a mammogram there was no explanation. But after a biopsy, it was discovered she had stage 4 cancer in one of her breasts.

Tonya has had to quit her job as she goes through her treatment being led by Dr. James Atkins of SMOC. The strategy is to slow the cancer down then after chemotherapy, surgery, and rounds of radiation, Tonya is hoping for a cure. She’s receiving support from her mother, Smith Chapel United Methodist Church, and others who have heard her story.

Tonya is a single mom, and because she is unable to work her needs are major and ongoing.
